Four Sworn In As Bayelsa State High Court Judges, Following NJC Recommendation

Wife of the Bayelsa State Governor, Patience Ama Zuofa Diri, has finally been sworn in as a High Court Judge. Herself and three others were sworn in on the 30th December, 2021, after their recommendation of appointment by the National Judicial Council.

The swearing in happened on Thursday, at the State executive Council Chamber in Government House, Yenagoa.



The other three sworn in, with the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Kate Abiri as witness include: Lockie James Benimo, Simon Warikiyei Amaduobogha and Christine Irigha Kombo-Enegesi aside the Governor's wife. 



His Excellency, Gov. Douye Diri urged the newly appointed High Court Judges to carry out their duties and serve the people of Bayelsa State unfailingly. 




"I once again congratulate the newly sworn in judges on your appointment. Indeed, as you assume your respective high and exalted offices as judges of the High Court, I urge you to serve the people of Bayelsa with unfailing and commitment. 




"Let your actions and decisions be steered solely on unprejudiced and faithful application of the constitution and our written laws, our ethics and values as a people and the superseding interest of justice." He added.
