In a bold move to reshape fuel access in Lagos, ResQ-X, a local technology-driven company, has announced the launch of Refuel, an on-demand petrol delivery service. Beginning this October, Refuel will operate in key urban districts including Ikoyi, Victoria Island, and Lekki Phase 1, bringing certified fuel directly to homes, offices, and fleet operators.
The innovation is coming at a time when Lagos residents continue to experience recurrent fuel scarcity, long queues at petrol stations, and mounting concerns over distribution inefficiencies. By leveraging technology and last-mile logistics, Refuel promises to offer timely, safe, and hassle-free delivery, eliminating the need for consumers to endure stressful waits at filling stations.
According to industry observers, the entry of Refuel could disrupt Nigeria’s downstream sector by introducing a new layer of convenience and transparency. The service is expected to appeal strongly to businesses with high fuel dependency, including logistics firms, corporate offices, and gated estates, where time and reliability are critical. ResQ-X has also emphasized that all fuel supplied through the platform will be NNPC-certified and dispensed under strict safety protocols, ensuring consumer trust.
Looking ahead, ResQ-X projects that Refuel will expand coverage across more parts of Lagos and eventually other Nigerian cities, positioning itself as a trailblazer in the country’s fuel-tech ecosystem. Analysts note that the success of Refuel could inspire similar solutions in other utility sectors, where accessibility and innovation remain pressing needs.
