Ekiti State is ramping up its digital transformation with key government moves aimed at boosting AI, ICT, and entrepreneurship across the region. In late 2024, the State Executive Council approved a comprehensive ICT policy, covering areas such as Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, e-Government, and open data; all part of the governor’s broader push for smart governance and innovation-led growth.
To support digital startups and innovators, the Council also established a ₦100 million Innovation Enterprise Support Fund, offering mentorship, access to investors, incubation, and acceleration support for tech-driven MSMEs.
Underlining the state’s commitment to skill-building, Ekiti State has launched an MSME ICT Skill Acquisition Hub in partnership with Wakocode Technologies. This hub delivers free training in high-demand tech skills, including Full-stack development, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Backend development, and Data Analytics, empowering youth to access both local and global remote opportunities.
