Nigeria’s fourth-largest telecom operator, 9mobile, has officially rebranded itself as T2, unveiling a fresh identity, new vibrant orange color scheme, and a renewed mission to reclaim market relevance in the country’s fiercely competitive telecom landscape.
At the launch event in Lagos, CEO Obafemi Banigbe emphasized that this goes beyond a cosmetic change. He described the rebrand as “a whole new chapter,” transforming the company into a customer-focused, tech-powered, and digitally agile platform, designed to serve startups, creatives, remote workers, and every Nigerian with big dreams.
T2's comeback plan includes a national roaming arrangement with MTN to improve coverage, and a planned $3 billion infrastructure investment over four years to upgrade its network, billing systems, and shift into cloud-native and AI-driven services. While subscribers have previously dipped to as low as 2–3 million, the rebrand signals a determined effort to rebuild trust, modernize operations, and serve boldly, speedily, and passionately.
