“Even I, Am Careful With AI” Sam Altman Speaks Out.

Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI and one of the key people behind ChatGPT, recently opened up about something quite surprising—he’s scared of using AI sometimes. In a podcast chat with comedian Theo Von, Altman said he avoids using certain AI tools because he worries about where the information goes and who might see it later.

He’s not alone in thinking this way. With AI becoming part of daily life (helping people write, plan, or even get advice) it’s easy to forget that these systems still don’t offer complete privacy. And that’s exactly what Altman warned about.

He explained that talking to ChatGPT is not the same as speaking to a doctor, therapist, or lawyer, where your conversation is protected by confidentiality laws. In fact, if there’s a legal issue in the future, anything you’ve typed into an AI chat could be used against you. That means users need to be very careful about the kind of personal or sensitive information they share.

Altman’s comments are a wake-up call, especially as more people turn to AI for emotional support or life advice. He believes there should be clear privacy rules for AI platforms, similar to the ones that protect your chats with professionals. Until then, it’s up to each user to stay smart and cautious.
