Congratulations To The Young Bayelsan, Amaran Preye, For Emerging A Winner of the Student Venture Capital Grant

Amaran Preye, a young Bayelsan was recently announced as one of the winners of the Student Venture Capital Grant. He won the sum of N50 million naira in equity-free funding. The Student Venture Capital Grant (S-VCG) is a Federal Ministry of Education initiative. It is the first of its kind, and aimed at promoting startups and creative ideas across fields like Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine.

According to Amaran Preye, "I pitched my startup and by the grace of God I was selected as one of the winners in the country to be supported out of over 30k+ applications."

The opportunity was open to student innovators and founders especially.

"They told us that they got applications from over 400 schools and about a 100k individual students."

"I applied on the deadline day and just prayed and hope it went well. That was in December, and I almost forgot I applied for something like this until last week when I got a message that I was selected among the 65 applications that made it to the final, and that we should come to Lagos for a bootcamp. I thought it was a joke until they sent my flight money and logistics."

"Omo, we came and a lot happened here but in the end they selected 40 startup out of the 65 finalist who pitched their ideas in from of this scary Judges, lol. And yesterday they announced the winners and boom, there I was."

From information I gathered, Amaran Preye was the only Bayelsan who made it to the finals.

I know this young man personally, being a church brother, teacher of the gospel, and a youth with ambition. This is a feat to God's glory. And I think in all sincerity that the Bayelsa State Government should look into this young man, invite him, encourage him, claim him (if you know what I mean). He is the kind that serves as hope to our youths.
