Spotify has announced that it will raise its subscription fees in Nigeria by 9.1%, starting from September 2025. The adjustment comes as part of the streaming giant’s global price review to reflect rising operational and licensing costs.

For Nigerian users, this means individual, family, and student plans will see a slight increase across all tiers. The new pricing will be communicated via email and in-app notifications, and existing subscribers will be billed at the updated rate from their next renewal after the change takes effect.

Although the price hike is relatively modest, some users have expressed concerns online, citing economic pressures and currency volatility. Spotify, however, maintains that the change is necessary to maintain service quality and support artists on its platform.
