The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Nigeria has partnered with the Kenya School of Government (KSG) to launch a groundbreaking cryptocurrency course aimed at enhancing public sector capacity in digital finance and blockchain regulation. This marks a pivotal step in expanding jurisdictional understanding and oversight of emerging digital assets across Africa.
The collaboration hinges on Busha, a pioneering SEC-licensed crypto startup known for its compliant operations in digital assets. Busha will spearhead the practical delivery of the course content, leveraging its technical know-how and regulatory experience, while the SEC and KSG will contribute policy frameworks, governance structures, and curriculum oversight.
Announced ahead of the planned launch, organizers say the course will equip regulators, policymakers, and government officials with foundational knowledge in cryptocurrency fundamentals, blockchain technology, and market supervision. The initiative reflects a growing need for regulatory capacity across African capital markets as countries navigate adoption of digital assets.
Busha CEO praised the partnership as a critical step toward building “trust and competence in our digital financial systems,” while SEC’s Director-General Emomotimi Agama emphasized that public sector readiness is key to safeguarding investor interests and fostering sustainable innovation.
