The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) is currently touring Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones on a mission to discover and spotlight the country's most promising tech startups. With the GITEX Nigeria 2025 Startup Festival set for September 1–4 in Abuja, NITDA kicked off its Southeast regional roadshow on July 15, 2025, in Enugu, calling innovators from Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States to pitch their solutions.

This event offers young tech entrepreneurs a chance to showcase their work in key areas like HealthTech, AgriTech, FinTech, AI, EdTech, ClimateTech, and CreativeTech, with winners earning a sponsored slot at the national Startup Festival. They’ll compete for global visibility, including possible exposure at GITEX Global in Dubai, opening doors to investors, mentorship, and international markets.

NITDA’s CEO, Kashifu Inuwa, sees this roadshow as a key part of Nigeria’s digital transformation plan, one that elevates homegrown innovation and builds momentum ahead of what officials hope will be a standout tech showcase this September. Local leaders join the chorus: Enugu State’s Commissioner for Innovation Science & Technology called the initiative “more than a competition, it’s a pipeline to national relevance and global competitiveness.” The event reflects growing belief that Nigeria’s youthful energy and national backing can build a thriving tech ecosystem across Africa.
