MTN Nigeria has thrown its weight behind the Federal Government’s digital upskilling vision by donating a whopping ₦3 billion to the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) initiative. The announcement came on June 25, 2025, with a breakdown that includes ₦1.45 billion in training grants, ₦1.5 billion for subsidised data, and ₦50 million for Raspberry Pi kits. This strategic support aims to boost accessibility and effectiveness across the 197 approved training centres nationwide.
The 3MTT initiative, championed by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, is Nigeria’s boldest attempt to bridge the global tech talent gap from home. The goal is simple but ambitious — train 3 million Nigerians in tech and digital skills over the next few years. From software engineering to UI/UX design, cybersecurity, data analysis, AI, and more, the program is designed to equip youths with future-ready skills that can compete globally and contribute locally.
