EFCC Arraigns Fraudsters For Impersonating Anthony Joshua

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has successfully arraigned two suspects for allegedly impersonating British boxer, Anthony Joshua.


This was made known by the Commission in their social media handle, on the 12th day of October, 2021.


The post reads that the EFCC has arraigned two alleged fraudsters for impersonating the star (Anthony Joshua), adding that they obtained £15, 491, 23 from their victims.


"The Benin Zonal Command of the EFCC, on Monday October 11, 2021 arraigned the duo of Ukhuriegbe Glory Irekpitan and Onyekwa Joshua Chinedum before Justice S. M. Shuaibu of the Federal High Court sitting in Benin, Edo State on two count charge each of impersonation.


"The defendants are alleged to have impersonated Anthony Joshua, the British boxer of Nigerian descent, to defraud two ladies of the sums of £10,000 pounds and £5, 491, 23 in London," the post reads.
